Reframed at some point in a mahogany-effect moulding with a gold slip and grey mount, glazed. Frame 39 x 31cm. Snow was one of the hardest subjects for early photographers - the glare off it on slow plates made winter views notoriously difficult to expose, so far fewer were ever attempted. Good condition with minor wear, gentle age-toning and a few small spots to the sky, as you'd expect of an original print this old. Antique, early 20th century. A proper farmhouse-style piece for a hallway, landing or bedroom wall. £56 Delivered in the UK £50 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

A ruined castle tower stands on a rocky headland among tall Scots pines, with a little sailing boat and its crew drifting past on still water. Misty blue mountains fill the distance, and there are more sails further up the loch and reeds in the foreground. The palette is soft and calm, very much of its Edwardian time. It's presented in a cream mount with fine ruled wash lines, inside a gilt moulding. It measures 70 x 54cm in the frame. Painted in Britain. It's in good antique condition with minor wear, and the colours are still fresh. There are a couple of tiny marks on the mount and light rubbing to the frame, in keeping with its age. Scots pine is Britain's only native pine, and its flat-topped silhouette became the shorthand for Highland scenery in Victorian and Edwardian painting. It would sit well in an old-world or grandmillennial room, a study or a cosy hallway. £75 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

Marked "3. Auflage" (3rd edition), dating it to the 1860s. The sheet measures 44.5 x 35cm and has all fifteen original hand-coloured panels, following a wild-haired pianist as he works himself into an ever more frantic performance, each scene captioned with a musical term (Silentium, Scherzo, Fortissimo Vivacissimo and so on). "Der Virtuos" is often counted among the earliest true comic strips, telling its story through movement and expression rather than dialogue. Good for its age, with foxing and staining to the lower edge and corners and light wear to the paper edges, but all fifteen panels are bright, clear and complete. Antique, 1860s, made in Germany. A great find for collectors of early comic art, music lovers or a dark academia wall. £49 Delivered in the UK £44 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

This piece depicts an Alpine scene, with jagged snow-capped peaks rising above a traditional wooden chalet tucked among autumn-coloured trees, built up with thick palette-knife work that gives real texture and depth throughout. Signed lower right. Canvas measures approximately 92 x 52cm, held in a cream linen-effect frame. Good condition overall with just light age-related wear to the frame; the canvas itself is clean and stable with no tears or losses. Nouyer's work turns up at auction fairly rarely, with past sales including a leopard study at Bonhams and a horse scene at a US saleroom, so this alpine subject is a nice addition to that spread. £65 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

Titled "Flamborough Light House" below. In a wood-grained frame with a gilt slip and card mount, glazed, approximately 32 x 22cm overall. The tower shown isn't the lighthouse Flamborough is famous for today - that one was only finished in 1806, the very year this print is dated. This is the older chalk tower built in 1674, which was never actually lit. Good condition, with light foxing to the mount, a bit of wear to one corner of the frame's finish and a torn backing paper (see photos). Made in England, 1806. A lovely bit of Georgian coastal history with a coastal grandmother feel. £41 Delivered in the UK £36 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

Signed Fuller lower right and titled on the back. Slim gilt frame with a cream mount, 40 x 50cm. The whole Vale of Pickering below these hills was a huge glacial lake at the end of the last Ice Age, which is why the valley floor is so flat and grows corn so well. Engraved by J. Rogers after a drawing by Nathaniel Whittock, from the series of English topographical views the pair produced in the late 1820s. Black frame with a wide card mount, 22 x 18cm overall. A handwritten note on the back reads "Bought in Cornwall at St Ives! Returned to Bridlington in 1961" - it's been on quite a journey. Despite its name, Danes Dyke has nothing to do with the Danes - it's a huge earthwork thought to date to the Iron Age, dug long before the Vikings ever reached Yorkshire. Good condition, with the gentle toning and light watermarking you'd expect for its age. The glass is missing from the frame. Made in England, circa late 1820s. A charming antiquarian piece for anyone who loves the Yorkshire coast. £38 Delivered in the UK £34 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

St Vincent's Rock is the cliff of the Avon Gorge where Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge would later be built - work on it didn't finish until 1864, nearly half a century after this map was printed. £60 Delivered in the UK £54 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

Signed "York" and "E.C. Crowther" and dated 188-, the last digit worn but placing it in the 1880s. Gilt frame with a wash-line mount, under glass, measuring 43 x 35cm. A good antiquarian piece for anyone with a York or Yorkshire connection. The paper has some scattered foxing, mostly across the sky and the mount, which is typical for a watercolour of this age, and the colours remain bright. York Minster's twin west towers took the best part of 250 years to complete, so the building spans several distinct phases of Gothic architecture. £62 Delivered in the UK £55 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

Soft blues and purples in the distant mountains contrast with the rich greens of the foreground - it has the feel of the Canadian Rockies or similar alpine scenery. Oil on board, 40.5 x 30.5cm. Painting on board rather than canvas was popular with amateur and professional painters alike from the 1950s on - it's rigid, cheap and doesn't sag. Good condition with minor wear; the surface is clean and sound. English, 1970s. Beautifully moody and tonal, a proper dark academia piece. Dates to around 1900. Condition is good for its age with honest wear: there's an old split running down the board joint through the middle of the picture, a scattering of small paint losses, and some old filler showing on the reverse. The frame has been painted gold at some point. Hanging rings already fitted. Landseer's Monarch of the Glen made deer the must-have subject for Victorian parlours, and painters were still meeting the demand half a century later. £48 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

It has a softly scalloped rim, a lightly moulded panel to the centre of the well, and bold blue blooms with fringed centres (which give the pattern its name) trailing across the white ground. A generous 53 x 44cm across, properly made for carving a joint at the table. Minton is one of the great names in English pottery, founded in Stoke-on-Trent in 1793, and later provided the tiled floors for the Houses of Parliament. There's a chip to the rim edge with some staining, and a fine crack running through the moulded centre panel - a shame on a piece this scarce, so do look closely through the photos. A good old wooden screw nutcracker: pop the nut in the cup and wind the ribbed handle in until the shell gives. Probably late 19th to early 20th century. Unmarked, probably British or European. Inside is the chrome iron, its cream detachable handle, a folding metal iron rest and the original black and white braided fabric cord with brown Bakelite fittings. The whole set appears to be there. Prilect irons were made by T. Price & Son of Aston, Birmingham, around 1948 to 1960. The Science Museum has a complete one in its collection as an example of the post-war "golden age of travel". Folding the handle away let the whole iron pack flat into a suitcase. The tin measures 14cm wide. It has scuffs and small paint losses, a small nick on the front edge of the lid and some surface rust along the lower edge and base rim. Inside, the paint is worn with a few rust spots, and there's an old paper price label on one end. The iron rest is rusty, while the chrome soleplate is still bright. The outside graphics are still bright and clear. Please note: this has not been tested and is sold as a collectable or display piece, not for use. The fabric-covered wiring is original, so any vintage electrical item like this should be checked by an electrician before it's plugged in. £15 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

It stands 10cm tall and 9cm wide, a nice small size for a shelf, desk or windowsill display. There's a coin slot in the roof, and the two halves are held together by a screw at the back. The black paint is well worn, with silver-grey showing through on the edges, the lettering and the raised details. That wear shows off the moulding nicely, and there are a few tiny green specks near the steps. There's no maker's mark on the base, and the age isn't known for certain. The screw at the back is a cross-head type, which suggests a later casting in the style of the American cast iron "still banks" of the late 1800s and early 1900s. "Still" banks are the ones with no moving parts, as opposed to mechanical banks. They were made in their thousands to get children saving, and many were modelled on the grand bank buildings of the day. £43 Delivered in the UK £38 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

There's a visible hand-soldered seam that speaks to traditional metalworking rather than mass production. Boxes of this shape were made to keep tea, tobacco or trinkets safe from damp and light - and this one still does the job just as well on a shelf. Good condition with minor wear and an attractive aged patina. Vintage. A great find for a modern medieval or curiosity core look. £36 Delivered in the UK £32 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

The deep box body has iron strap fittings and pegs, a raised front board and a shallow front tray. It sits on two red-painted spoked wheels with black rims, and long shafts with small iron hooks underneath for harness. This isn't a factory toy - it was made by someone who clearly knew how a real cart was put together. A great farmcore piece for a dresser, a deep windowsill or a farmhouse kitchen shelf. Length: 61cm. Age: vintage, era uncertain. Unmarked, so the maker and country of origin aren't known. Condition: good for its age, with honest wear throughout. The body is darker and more worn than the shafts, which have a brighter reddish finish and may be a later replacement or refinish. There are gaps and small splits along the grain of the body boards, worn paint on the wheel rims, a small chip out of the black rim of one wheel, and paint loss on one hub showing bare wood. Two lengths of green plastic-coated wire have been twisted onto the shafts, probably a later addition. Two-wheeled tip carts were the workhorse of British farms, carting muck, turnips and stone, and tipping their load right where it was needed. £45 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

Fully hallmarked for Birmingham… moreA neat little compact in solid sterling silver, its lid engine-turned with a stepped, geometric Art Deco panel. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1921, with the maker's mark of Broadway & Co, a well-known Birmingham silversmith. Measures 8cm across. Opens to reveal the original mirror and powder puff, the puff printed "Christina," a nice period-style touch that's stayed with the compact all these years. General wear and tarnishing consistent with its age, along with a small split to the rim by the hinge. Broadway & Co was founded around 1900 by William Benjamin Broadway in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, and remarkably the firm is reportedly still crafting silverware in the same part of the city today. £55 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

The circular logo, with a "JT & Co" style monogram in the centre, is pressed into the dark-stained lid and stamped again in black inside the lid. "Canada" is stamped on the front in old-style lettering, and "MEDIUM" is stencilled on the base, most likely the size of cigars it once held. The lid opens on two small brass hinges, and the inside is plain wood with a warm reddish tone and a good grain. It's a handy size for trinkets, jewellery, keys, stamps, cards or small tools, and would look good on a desk or shelf or in a tobacciana collection. Measurements: 22cm x 12.5cm. Condition: good used vintage condition, with general scuffs and marks from age. There's a pale scuff on the front, some white paint-like marks inside the lid below the stamp, and a few white specks on the base. The right-hand hinge is missing one screw from its lid plate, but the lid still opens and closes. There's a small nick on the inside front edge. Please see the photos, which are part of the description. £12 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |

A nice start to a tool collection, a useful set for the workshop, or display pieces for a rustic farmcore shelf. Included: - Wooden-handled screwdriver with a flat oval handle, a hanging hole and a metal ferrule. It measures 20cm long. - Awl with a brass barrel, a knurled collar and a long, fine steel point. A small spring shows through the window in the barrel. - T-handle gimlet with a wooden crossbar and a spiral screw tip, for starting holes in wood. - Short-bladed knife with a turned wooden handle and a brass ferrule. - Awl with a turned wooden handle and a mushroom-shaped end. - Pair of old steel pincers with curved jaws, and a ball end on one handle. The pincers and some of the steel parts have surface rust, as shown in the photos, but no damage has been found. Please see the photos for scale: the screwdriver is 20cm and the other pieces are shown next to it. The name "gimlet" comes from the Old French "guimbelet". Vintage Chesterman Sheffield 50ft Surveyors Tape Measure Leather Brass ToolRef 896 A vintage 50ft tape measure by Chesterman of Sheffield, in its original tan leather case. The leather is stamped "Chesterman · Sheffield · England"… moreA vintage 50ft tape measure by Chesterman of Sheffield, in its original tan leather case. The leather is stamped "Chesterman · Sheffield · England" with the maker's emblem on both sides, and the brass folding winder handle is stamped "50FT". The linen tape is marked in feet and inches, with a brass ring and leather tab at the end to stop it slipping back inside the case. The case measures 11cm across. Condition: good, with honest signs of use. The leather has scuffs, scratches and fine surface crazing, with a few small nicks and darker marks, mostly around the rim. The brass fittings have worn to a soft, dull patina. The linen tape has some age discolouration and marks, but the numbers are clear to read. A handsome piece for a collector of old tools, or to display on a shelf in a study, workshop or country kitchen. A bit of history: James Chesterman set up in Sheffield in the early 1800s and patented one of the first spring-return measuring tapes in 1829. The firm merged with John Rabone & Sons in 1963 and became Rabone Chesterman, so a tape with the Chesterman name alone dates from before then. £15 Collect from Kirkby Lonsdale |
